Before Your Spray Tan

  • The night before you tan, use an aloe Vera-based moisturiser (it’s oil-free) on hands, elbows, knees, feet and on the backs of the ankles – they are the driest areas where tan tends to cling to.
  • Never wax just before before tanning – this opens the pores and will give you that speckled egg look.
  • Exfoliate ideally 24 hours before your spray tan
  • Do not apply deodorant or perfume since they react with the tanning lotion.

Aftercare for a long lasting tan

  • Wear loose clothing for the rest of the day. This is to avoid rubbing which could result in an uneven tan and also avoid socks for the first few hours.
  • Moisturise regularly. This will help to prolong your spray tan.
  • Exfoliate rough areas only like knees, elbows, and heels. This will allow your tan to fade evenly.
  • Do not shower for at least 8 hours. Ideally it’s best if you can leave the tan on overnight without showering or washing it off. During this time the tan will absorb into your skin and start to develop.
  • Do not rub your skin with a towel after a shower. Make sure you pat your skin dry instead.
  • Do not exercise or sweat excessively as this could have an influence on the development of your tan.
